Some of us have tried out some non-hardcore (aka: softcore, or “SC”) Diablo 3 content.  Some have even gotten to the max level of 60 and engaged the hardest difficulty: Inferno.

I say, pishposhpancakes.

I am one of the above – I have lots of SC characters, most in the 30-50 range, and a 60, with Inferno gear.

By pancakes, I mean D3 hardcore, of course, which will henceforth be referred to as piranacakes.

I highly recommend D3’s HC mode – it doesn’t really get serious until you encounter your first “boss” – ie: the monster fights that you can’t just teleport out of.  Yup, basic stuff.  It’s kill him, or you die.  FIN.

I just solo’d the 2nd boss, Belial, on my 21 Barb, and doing so was a huge rush, akin to killing any new wow boss – I’m not kidding.  I was NOT expecting such satisfaction from this aspect of the game, but, well, there it is.
