Once more, and always…

Dusk

“It’s a cold evening for this, General,” Zyley spoke quietly.

“Aye,” replied Panzer, an uncharacteristically short answer for the Zergadin General.

The pair of old comrades sat upon their War Steeds. The hoofed beasts radiated a crimson light.

Majestic and menacing, the pair rode toward their goal.

“Good Evening, Chromie,” chatted General Dawnstar.

“Oh, my!” the disguised Bronze Dragon said with a start. “I haven’t seen you in months, or was it just yesterday?”

Chromie scratched what appeared to be a head of gnomish locks. “Time is fickle, but the two of you know that.”

“What can I do for the Great General Dawnstar and his Healer of Hate this evening?” she asked.

“The Past,” Zyley Explained. “We need to reclaim ours and then forward to the future.”

Chromie giggled. “That’s a bit vague, wouldn’t you say Blood Elf?”

The two Paladins glanced at each other and nodded in silent agreement.

“We are prepared to face what may come. Once more, and always,” spoke Panzer, with an elegant tone. “Now open the portal Dragon, we all know how this is going to end.”

A silvery line of arcane light split the air before them. It felt like an age for the portal to yawn open, but the Zergadins knew it only took a heartbeat.

Through the portal the two friends could see their shared adventures … and an uncertain future.

Together the Paladins charged forward, into the past.

As the two disappeared, Chromie noticed them both change.

A light began pouring out from the Elves, dwarfing their steeds’ illumination. The light bathed upon the Bronze Dragon’s disguised face, making her shiver.

“Once more, and always. Without end, and without beginning. For all, and for one,” Chromie said to the dark. “A destination without end …”
