“I can’t believe this is actually ours!” Llamahatchet suddenly cried out load as he entered the bridge section of the Black Talon. The fully Upgraded war-time Dreadnaught was recently taken as the flag ship of the Zergadins not 2 days ago.
“Better believe it!” Walter smiled back as he sunk down into a large leather chair. “It simply doesn’t get better then this.” A gentle hum radiated from the ships cold metal walls reminding the pair that they weren’t home anymore. But neither seemed to care.
“Ya, but did you see the size of those ship quarters; I could play base ball in them!” Llamahatchet said as he fidgeted with excitement. He wandered over and sat next to walter on the arm of his chair “do… do you think I can pick one soon?”
Walter kicked his feet up casually onto computer council in front of him and replied. “You can try but the last time I checked Dawnstar was still scouting them; your welcome to compete with him for first dibs … but you heard what happened to Al’ressun when he tried right?”
“No I didn’t! What….” Llama uttered but unfortunately was cut off by ships intercom
“Attention all Zergadins, this is Captian Saybur. Please meet in the briefing room on deck 3.” the familiar voice echoed through the bridge. Walter and Llama both stood to attention and took a quick look at each other.
“We have a contract we need to briefed on I bet.” Walter said to Llama.
“but…” Llama said as he looked away from Walter. “…But we I just got here!”
“I guess we don’t get any time to settle in.” Walter sighed out load as The pair quickly made their way to ships lifts. “The last handful of jobs have been so simple, Llama. I’m sure this on won’t be any different. Did you get a chance to clean your guns?”
“Of course I did!” Llama snapped back at Walter. “Have you cleaned your….” Llama abruptly stopped himself as the lifts doors quickly and almost violently opened in front of them.
“So tell me. Do your Jedi pow…” Llama began to speak again.
“Sith, Llama.” Walter interrupted rudely.
“Right, well do your SITH powers give you extra luck?” Llama said as he pushed Walter in to the ships lift first. The young merc stood back for a second and smiled, “Okay I guess it’s safe.”
There was no chatter between the two as they were lowered down the ships levels. The lightning fast lift wasted no time in getting the two zergadins to their destination. Very suddenly and just as abruptly, as before, the doors opened up. The pair could see most of the members of the team already assembled ahead of them. The scene looked like something straight out of a painting.
A quick glimpse around the room identified everyone – Mattman was in the room leaning with him back against a window; the blackness of space acting as his backdrop. Saybur and Zyley both sat at a massive retangluar table reading star charts with very emotionless expression on his faces. While Ahzi and Al’ressun stood beside the same table patiently waiting for everyone to arrive.
“Glad you two could make it!” Zyley spoke as Llama and Walter excited the lift. “I guess thats everyone that’s coming. If everyone could take a seat we’ll get started.”
“Are you sure? I don’t see the General?” Walter replied.
“Panzer is already on Denova preparing our landing site.” Saybur answered.
“Denova?! That place is a warzone! Don’t tell me we’re getting involved with that non-sense down there! There is no way…” Ahzi argued as he stood up from his seat at the table.
“Sit down, Ahzi. Yes, we are getting involved.” Saybur quickly responded. “We have a massive contract opportunity here. With how many credits are being offered there is simply no way we can ignore it… Zyley, can you give them a quick run down of our target?”
“With Pleasure….” said Zyley.
Mattman stood up anxiously. He began to look at Saybur and Zyley very intently.
“wait … wait… I just need to interrupt here for two seconds.’ said Mattman. “This may sound a little strange, but I’m not comfortable with Zyley AND Saybur both here at the same time. For some reason this just doesn’t feel right.”
Saybur and Zyley both looked at each other for a second. Both unsure of what Mattman was referring to. The pair shook their heads briefly and Zyley Carried on.
“Just sit down and listen, Matt.” Saybur ordered Mattman.
“We have one target. The contract doesn’t call for us to kill their leader or anything; we just need to take out these two monsters named Toth & Zorn. apperently they are holding up the regular military from pushing through to the main base.” Said Zyley.
“That doesn’t make any sense.” Llama replied. “Why don’t they just send more troops…. or just carpet bomb them? This IS the military right?”
“I would weather a guess that they don’t want that much collateral damage and they most likely don’t wanna risk their own troops with a smaller attack.” Walter said to Llama as he fiddled with his moustache.
“It really doesn’t matter their reasons, the point is that this is a military contract. So we know the credits are good.” Zyley continued “So this operation is a quick get in and get out. Should be fairly stragith forward. The only thing we need to keep in mind is that these creatures must have a curator. So we’ll have to be on the look out for him.”
“Who all is going on the mission? You said they wanted a smaller group?” Mattman asked.
” The team will be Zyley, Mattman, Llama, Walter, Ahzi, Al’ressun, Panzer and Growlz when he arrives. I will remain onboard the ship.” Saybur replied.
“I still think this is a bad idea. that planet is so war torn right now it’s not even funny.” Ahzi grunted as he began to walk out of the room. “Bring extra Koloto, Zyley. I suspect we’re gonna need it.”
