So it has been about 10 days playing or so and I wanted to give you some insights on the game so far.

Leveling: So far, this game is probably one of the most fun leveling experiences I have ever had in a game. It is also the most immersive and ‘oh shit, I was goign to bed 3 hours ago’ fun. My main, and engineer, is level 50 already and I have been playing alot. I have a few other characters of low level. I have not done much PvP but from what I have seen it can be a very good alternative to PvE.
Leveling is all about the ‘dynamic events’. I kind of skipped these at first buit when I started doing them actively, my exp gain shot up. They are also insanely fun and its a blast to have 20-30 people working to fend off waves of centuars or kill some giant spider. I have also been trying to complete the maps of as many zones as possible (42% done atm). It is addictive and fun seeking out all the vistas and points of interest. The down leveling when you enter lower zones is really done wel for the most part and makes it so going through the lower zones is just as much fun even when you are 15 levels above it.

Tradeskills: Very fun and not your averae grind same item over and over. The exp gain is noticable and you can make very usable items. Here is my one gripe: you actively have to stay in lower zones to farm the special pieces (clasw, fangs, scales etc) to have enough to level up. And if you are dumb like me and take two crafting skills which demand these same items, you are screwed. They need to adjust the recipes or increase the drop rates. Now, I did notice that at higher levels i am not havign as many issues and this COULD also be from farming the dnamic events more so that I am gettign more of the necessary stuff. Still a great system.

Graphics: I have had to drop down my graphic settings because I was having a memory issue whihc a number of people have. I spoke with a person who works for arenanet and its something to do with the Nvidia drivers. Hopefully this will get fixed soon but I am still have a blast and pulling like 60 fps on my system that is a few years old. Aside form that, the terrain and overall architecture of the world is amazing. The zones are distinct and not the bland flat wastelands of SWTOR. The fact to can jump and climb many of the mountains is just cool. Best looking game i have played from the standpoint of the way the world looks and feels.

PvP: Have not pkayed much but I love World Vs World. Last night I sat on a way for like 10 minutes and devastated the enemy with an arrow cart as they attacked our keep. I was giggling in delight. Lots of big battles but soooo much a small force can accomplish in terms of harrassing supply lines and such.

Many may have heardof the bans. I am all for them because people who bot and abuse obivious bugs should be punished. I am glad to see they are responsive. Also, in game you will someitmes get messages saying ‘Hey we are workign on some issues, your game may be impacted”. In addition, downtime for maintenance is liek 20-30 minuttes at a time late at night. They also seem to jump on issues and get them fixed rapidlly.

If you cannot tell, I love this game. It can be challenging at times but it also has its hooks in me.
