SWTOR – Know when to hold’em


…and you have to know when to fold’em.  I’m folding our hand in EC Hard Mode, for now.  We have run into logistical issues every week we’ve been in there.  I’m chalking that place up to some real bad mojo.

Last night we attempted to clear it with 7/8 of our progression group.  It didn’t go as planned.

In true Zergadin fashion we stormed into Karagga’s Palace for a single purpose.  NEW CLOTHES!

Haha!  We 7 manned Story Mode and walked away with a rare Medium Armor drop for Azhi.  It’s the only hood up robe I know of for Marauders.

The guild showed great poise after I pulled us out of the Explosive Conflict.  Not all the Zergadins have had the ‘pleasure’ of seeing that Operation first hand.  I’ll sum it up for you.

The first boss(es) are twin Drouks, aka big ass Ogres.   This fight is a mess.  The more you gear you get, the less predictable it becomes.  Oh and did I mention it doesn’t take to kindly to melee players?  So much so that the only successful attempts (save one) I’ve been in have had less than two melee DPS.

The second boss is a bug filled encounter.  What should be a ‘patchwork’ fight turns into a soup of “WTF” just happened and why?

No. 3, is the puzzle encounter.  It’s also the interrupt fight.  Miss one and you’re done.

The final encounter is a 10 minute slog.  Each Phase having a different gimmick.  The ‘transitions’ are no fun DPS checks.

This Ops will not get easier and we’ll be back.  Bioware doesn’t put out a buff as time goes on.  After a palette cleansing few weeks in the new Ops ‘Terror from Beyond’  I’ll saddle up the Zergs again and head out to Denova for some pay back!
