Bodyguards – Medics with Guns!

Zyley – “I’m here to protect you.”

P’anzer – “Then why are you pointing those blasters square at my temple?”

Zyley – “Trust me, I know exactly what I’m doing.”

P’anzer – “I have a bad feeling about this…”

Heavy Armor, Twin Blasters, and Kolto Missles.   Bounty Hunter Bodyguards demand respect.  How do you earn this type of respect and credits?  Enroll in Zyley’s Bodyguard Academy and you might just find out!

All bounty Hunters start out with the same arsenal:

Rapid Shots – Pew Pew and reduce your Heat.  Heat is your ever increasing resource bar.  If you overload on heat, you must vent it off to continue your assault.  Rapid Shots is a weak filler attack that lets you do just that.

Missile Blast – Lock and Load, knocks back weak enemies.

Level Two:

Rocket Punch – Rocket Powered Upper Cut. Great for finishing up a group.

At Level Three  you get:

Unload – Channeled Barrage of Blaster fire.

Level 4:

Combustible Gas Cylinder – Adds fire damage to your blaster.  Cylinders are the Bounty hunter “Stance” or Buff that let them focus on a role in a group.

Level 5:

Explosive Dart – Big Boom on a timer.  It also effectively CCs a weak target.

Level 6:

Rail Shot – Heavy Damage on an incapacitated Target.  This is a fun attack, but you have to be ready to use it.

Level 8:

Flame Thrower – Don’t stand in it!  Fun for all Bounty Hunters, but huge part of  Pyro’s rotation.

Level 9:

Determination – Personal CC Breaker.  If you have noticed all classes get mirror abilities.

Level 10:

Death from Above – Over Powered Bounty Hunter AoE.  Signature BH attack!

Getting to Level 10 and off Hutta will take some planning on a Bounty Hunters part.  A standard Level 5 pull goes like this:

Open with Explosive Dart,  Missile Blast a second, the Third Target can be Unloaded on.  At that time the Dart should be exploding while you are sipping your Aldarian Ale and smacking Mako on the butt.

You could get fancy and add a Rail Shot in there, or if you like being a Pyro, you could torch the whole group.  Not much will change with the pulls until level 10.  At 10 you can just use Death From Above to decimate a whole pack of enemies, about every 3rd pull.

At 10 get your bread crumb quest and select your Bodyguard Specialization, because that’s what this Academy is all about.

You’ll get with the specialization:

Power Shot – Begin 90% of your pulls with this now.

Rapid Scan – Spamable Heal

…oh and you can dual wield now, which is legit.

You have Mako as a companion, so you won’t be using that heal very much.  If you group up with 3 or less players Mako can effectively heal the group 75% of the time.  Make sure she is in her healing stance!  You can toss out a few scans if she falls behind.  You will also find that having a companion that can heal at this level makes things alot quicker.

At 12 you’ll pick up:

Sweeping Blasters – AoE suppression

High Velocity Gas Cylinder – Armor Piercing Rounds

Electro Dart – Stun

But that’s nothing compared to level 14:

Sprint – yeah!

Energy Shield – Nice Damage Mitigation.

Jet Boost – AoE Knock Back.

Combat Support Cylinder – “I shoot you because I care!”  It also stacks a buff up to 30 that can be spent on abilities as well as buffing damage and healing by 3%.

On the Trail (15) – Oh Shit Cooldown.

At 16 you get:

Healing Scan – Big Heal for less Heat Cost.  6 sec Cooldown.

The Pulls are very similar to level 5 at this point.  You can just get fancy with Sweeping Blasters and the new toys you have to play with.  Now that you have the Combat Support Cylinder you can effectively heal the group with no assistance from Mako.  You apply the CSC and your Rapid Shot from level one will heal a friendly target.  Try it while you run through the city!

You will also need to pick up Supercharged Gas as a talent soon.  It is a DPS and Healing Cooldown.  After you use the Super Gas, you can spam Healing Scan for 10 Secs and it Buffs your Kolto Missle with a shield, but you don’t have it yet…

You should, and will, want to run Black Talon and Hammer Station.  It’s good XP and you could score some great gear.  Just hang out on the Station at the Flashpoint Hub and shout that you can guard bodies and you’ll get grouped in a flash!

This ends your Bodyguard 101 class.  Your Class fees are due now.  Pay Mako at the door, or I let the trigger go on my Thermal Detonator…
