Dr. Grokk Smash requested a drink to be featured. He called it a Sledgehammer. He mentioned the ingrediants, but what stuck with me was the Drambuie addtion to the cocktail. Before I get into the actual elixer, lets discuss what Drambuie is.

Drambuie is an 80 proof liqueur made from whisky, honey, herbs, and spices. Its made in far off Broxburn, West Lohtian, Scotland. One of its more fun to say cocktails it’s featured in is the Rusty Nail.

Back to the Sledgehammer. I researched no less than Six different ‘Sledgehammer’ Drink recipies. Only one of which contained Drambuie. Most had variations of vodka or rum mixed with minisule amounts of citrus and other mixers. The one I did find made with Drambuie was the best, so that’s the one I’ll present for your buffing pleasure!

Rusty Sledgehammer

1 part Southern Comfort
1 Part Drambuie
1 Part Bacardi O Rum
3 Parts Lemonade

Shaken and served in a Martini Glass.

If I was to serve this drink, I’d forgo the Martni Glass and servie it in a Pewter Mug.
