Zergadins’ (formally Death’s Desires) progression through T12 has been a campaign filled with trials of character and hardship. The two largest factors contributing to this being summertime and our server transfer, because of Uther’s Horde population decline. The follow post is how I see progression.

Hellwolf’s words when we killed Nefarian have stayed with me. “Congratulations, this is the first time Death’s Desires has finished a tier when the content was current.” That statement sums up what progression is all about for me. Defeating the content when it is relevant, with-in the confines of our raiding schedule.

We raid for about 6 hours a week. The learning curve for Majordomo Staghelm is about 6-8 for average guild. You can imagine the pace at which our progression is built on.

Our progression rate is not a complaint, but a badge I wear with pride. We down bosses in less pulls than comparable guilds of our size and it takes every member to accomplish this. I hope that most guildies share that same mentality. The mind set of ‘all for one, and one for all.” A team is made up of more individuals than take the field. I am only as strong as my weakest healer, and we need strong healers to progress.

We also need DPS that carry a healthy chip on their shoulder. Using a term Panzer enjoys “Come at me Bro!” If you do damage, then walk with a strut and prove it. Dance the dance and deal some digital death for me. Make the guild leadership’s decision difficult. Who do we bring? They all kick ass!

What about Tanks? A diamond in the rough I’d say. Do we need 10 Main tanks? No. Do we need 10 players with a viable Tank spec and gear? Yes. Tanking is more approachable than ever before thanks to Blizzard’s retooling of threat. Get the gear, grab a healer and push both your limits to the max. Pull more, pull quicker, and pull smarter than the next guy in plate.

Also, let me point this out. Progression means having a DPS off spec, or the gear banked to make the swap in 10 minutes. A player with Tank/Heal setup is fine for 5 mans, but in a raid I need you to have a DPS spec ready to go. The time you have put into learning a fight is very valuable and a DPS spec gives you the flex to make a change on the fly.

Do you want to be part of the Zergadin’s progression? I know I do. I also know that being a part of it means eventually I’ll have to ride the bench. I replaced a Holy Paladin at the start of T11, someone is waiting to replace me I’m sure of it. What I remember when I see someone out heal me is underneath my Avatar’s name <Zergadins>. What one team downs, we all benefit from. Being in this guild is not by chance either. No mass invites are sent out, you earn your place. <Zergadins> means something, don’t forget that.

We will down Staghelm tonight. Will we down Rag? Probably not. We don’t have a real life Timewarp spell to make our clocks stand still while we learn the dance. The stopwatch of T12 will halt before we make it, but factoring in all of our challenges the last six months I can still walk through Org with my shield held high.

Here’s to the Team!

/Cheers
