No word yet on Walter O.Dim. He’d been gone for more cycles than Zyley would like to count.
Thinking on this, he downed the drink in front of him. The space station’s Cantina service had gotten better.
He ordered another from the pretty Twi’lek behind the bar.
“Mabey, Walt will answer this time.” he thought to himself.
Before he could reach the Com on his belt, it screeched alive with Mako’s voice. The slicer sounded frantic.
“We’ve got a priority distress, pick up, pick up, pick up!” she said quickly.
“Slow down Princess” said Zyley with a cool smile, all thoughts of his lost partner fading. “Who’s the distress from?”
“It’s from the splinter group Eternal. Specifically their leader, Walsh. He won’t give the message to anyone but you. Patching him through now.”
Mako’s image was replaced with another. Walsh was always a smooth talker, but an urgency was apparent in his voice.
“Zyley, good to see you. I’ll get to the point quickly. My people have found something, and on top of that we woke it up.” His eyes flashed quickly side-to-side. “I don’t like saying this, but we could use some back-up.”
“Send me your location, I can be there shortly.” Zyley commented.
“That’s not going to do it this time Hunter. I’m asking for as many Zergadins as you can muster.” this time Walsh’s eye never wavered.
“All of us? You know that’s not a cheap contract.” Zyley chuckled. “Good thing you can afford it!”
“Just get to Voss Hunter, and bring your Kolto Cylinders. Walsh out.” The Eternal leader’s image blinked away, replaced with Mako’s.
“How many of our Specialist’s are in the system Mako?” asked Zyley.
“I’ve already pulled it up.” commented Mako. “The available Zergadins are: Agent Sussanah, Chief Medical Officer Ahzi, along with Specialists Mattman and Llamahatchet.”
“Can you connect me with all of them?” asked Zyley.
“Working…” the slicer’s work could be heard as beeps and clicking. “Done, they are all connected.”
“Saddle up Zergadins, we’ve got a priority distress. Scramble your crews and meet me on Voss.”
Zyley ignited his rocket boots and rushed past Sith Lords and Imperial Officers sitting at their tables.
Reaching his hanger a confirmation buzzed from his helmet.
“All Zergadin starships have scrambled, sir. The Desire is ready for launch.” reported the Imperial Docking Officer.
“Very good Officer. Make sure my table is kept on reserve at the Cantinia. I’ll be back to finish my drink.” informed Zyley.
The Desire’s sub-light drive roared to life before the air lock closed behind him.
…
Sussanah and Zyley raced toward Eternal’s coordinates across the Voss landscape. Blaster fire could be heard from the direction of their destination.
“What’s this all about anyway?” asked the Imperial Sniper. “The dossier forwarded by Eternal contained information on a creature called: The Nightmare Pilgrim.”
“My information points to it being a biological with a Force infused arsenal. Oh, and it’s also got a pet. The locals refer to it simply as ‘Dog’.” reported Zyley.
“So in other words, we don’t know what it is. Do we?” smiled Sussannah.
“We’ll be fine.” Zyley smiled back.
Riding up the the Eternal camp, Zyley noted the defensive formation of their ranks. Eternal’s second in command, Boxcar, met them as they arrived.
“Greetings Hunter, glad you could join the party.” chatted Boxcar.
“I never turn down an invitation to a good time.” replied Zyley. “What’s the situation?”
“We can’t engage the Pilgrim until we secure the camp. ‘Pubs have taken notice of our operations. Reengage Sith are also harassing our position.” reported Boxcar.
“We can fix that.” informed Sussanah. Reaching to her earpiece the Agent contacted the second contingent of Zergadins. “Gentlemen, are you in position?”
“Roger that.” cheered Zergadin Specialist Llama One.
“Gentlemen, would you please occupy the bothersome fan club surrounding the camp?” asked the Agent. “Guerrilla tactics please, Llama. I don’t want any heroes today. Distract the problem makers and repeat.”
“Affirmative, we are already on it.” reported back Officer Ahzi. “Mattman and Llama are in pursuit of the ‘Pubs as we speak.”
Three speeders screamed past the encampment. A war cry of “For the Herd” could be heard fading as the Zergadin detachment raced by.
“As General Dawnstar would say, your problem has been ‘Zerged.’ Let’s continue with the operation Lord Boxcar.” Sussanah loaded the her rifle and trotted off into take position.
“Where did you find her?” asked Boxcar.
“I didin’t, she is one of Walt’s Agents.” informed Zyley.
“Speaking of, where is that guy? He’d love this!” Laughed Boxcar.
“Good question.” Zyley glanced sideway momentarily. “Let’s do this, I’ve got a drink waiting on me.”
Loading his Six Guns with Kolto Cylinders, Zyley fired a round into Box’s chest.
“Isn’t this how we met?” asked Box.
“Just like old times.” chatted Zyley.
“That Dog’s filth on my boots is going to require Fixer’s attention.” complained Sussanah.
“Buy a new pair, this contract has been filled. Walsh has transferred payment to the Zergadin account.” reaching for his concealment of Cigars, Zyley’s Com blasts with Mako’s voice. The slicer sounds frantic, again.
“Pick up, pick up, pick up! Priority distress Signal.” voiced Mako.
“Slow down Princess, that’s the second distress of the day.” said Zyley
“I think your going to want to take this one Big Guy, it’s Walter.” the slicer said happily.
The image of Mako faded, and was replaced with a familiar one.
“Hile Silverstrike.” said Walter O. Dim “The Twi’lek here in the Cantina said I just missed you.”
“I’m going to call her Violet, she’s a cute one.” An audible giggle could be heard behind Walter’s image. “We are saving you a seat at the table. Violet’s bringing friends, so hurry back.”
Lighting up his Cigar, Zyley simply nodded in response. “Diso…” said Zyley, as he clicked off the Com.
