PC – ZOMBIE WATCH!

I’m a huge post-apocalyptic game fan – I love zombie survival games and the fallout style games. I find the concept of trying to survive when basically you have nothing going on for you absolutely memorizing. During my break away from WoW I found myself desperately trying to find one of those types of games that scratched an itch that I couldn’t quite reach. I must have downloaded over 20 games that promised the world and then only offered a boiled down version of what the offered. However, I did find a few gems that I will hang onto for a while because they are so addictive and down right well made.  It’s also interesting to note that ALL of these games are from Indie Developers!

1

Neo Scavenger

This game by no stretch of the imagination is done. They are in perpetual Beta testing. The game has a fairly steep learning curve with no tutorial to guide you, the graphics are dated even though it’s only been out a few years, the storyline can be played through in a matter of 30 mins… but this game has the barebones to create and absoultely epic game. It’s a hexagon, turn based board game with a choose your own adventure style game with some very unforgiving situations. This game is not afraid to torture you. When you first start you are LITERALLY naked and being attacked by Wolves. This game is one of my favorites and I can’t wait to see what happens as the developer finishes.

Zafehouse: Diaries

This one is a rogue-like survival game. It’s ALL text with occasional picture tossed in. What makes this game so genius is that you are basically reading someones diary (Hence the games name) and you get to read a recap of what happened to the team that day. It introduces relationships between people such unbiased racism/sexism, friendships  or even the ultimate “bromance”. You start with one survivor and if you like try to get more or stay solo, but the objective of the game remains the same… survive until the hordes ultimately consume you!!

3

State of Decay

This is the last game I’m going to recommend and hands down the most well done out of all of them. Imagine Grand Theft Auto … during the zombie apocalypse! This game is essentially and zombie lovers wet dream. You recruit people, build your fortress, do scavenging runs, and battle hordes of zombies that will destroy you no matter how long you level up your guys. I easily poured more then 50 hours into the free roaming extravaganza! You owe it to yourself to check this one out. The only weak point I can see with this game is that the dialogue is a little repetitive and the story is a little dry, but man it was a good play!
