Another epic win last night for the World of Warcraft chapter of the Zergadins! With the first group of the week diving into the thick of the new raid instance, Dragon Souls, we bravely attacked the currently undefeated bosses Hagara Stormbinder and Warlord Zon’ozz!
Warlord Zon’ozz:
“Countless ages ago, Warlord Zon’ozz and his soldiers waged endless war against the forces of C’Thun and Yogg-Saron. Millennia have passed, but the warlord still serves the chaotic might of the Old God N’Zoth. Deathwing has now unleashed this legendary faceless one to crush the defenders of Wyrmrest Temple.”
With a mere 4 attempts, this previously unbeatable nightmare boss came crumbling to the ground. Once we determined that the game of kickball needed to defeat this monster was done, with melee attached to him the entire fight, it became trival.
Hagara the Stormbinder:
“Hagara, one of the first students of arcane magic under the Forsaken, showed surprising potential for one who had started learning so late in life. But in her undisciplined attempts to bind elementals into servitude, she was ensnared and twisted by the Windlord, Al’Akir. Now fiercely loyal to the Twilight’s Hammer, Hagara binds others for her elemental masters to torment.”
Hagara showed her true colors and proved herself to be a pretty easy fight, especially for the boss of the first wing. Her abilities broke down into 4 phases, each extremely simple to see. First phase consisted of a tank and spank, with some Sindagosa style ice blocks that needed to be broken and a “simple turn and run” from the Main Tank when she casts a burst attack spell. Second phase would be a run around the outside edge of the platform while dodging fall ice… and of course a wall of ice that chases you. This was most likely the most difficult part of the encounter as it is the most unforgiving. Walls of ice circle the outside edge and players must keep moving to have it avoid hitting them. Third phase was a lightning phase. During this phase players group up together and keep a chain lightning bouncing between them while moving around the outside edge of the map. The forth and final phase is a burn phase where she takes double damage.
By the end of the night we had two new screen shots to add to our gallery and a ton of loot to pass around, making us a stronger raid. Looking forward to the next run!
