Grokk wins The Great Hunt!

Yes yes, it was a long and very difficult challenge, but I finally managed to complete my final bounty.

I hunted rebellious Sith warriors, rogue Alderaanian lords, a Master Assassin, a slippery Scoundrel and finally, a Master Jedi and his Apprentice. Each fight proved to be more difficult to find my target, and with constant twists and turns to the story, my Bounty Hunter started out as a simple gun for hire, and has become a ruthless killing machine with a price-tag.

It’s odd, because when I started my character, I wanted to be honorable, respect the warrior’s code and fight fair… but every time I showed mercy and spared the life of someone, I was betrayed. And so my Bounty Hunter slowly became more and more ruthless, so much so that my companion became fairly disgusted with me. So I got a new companion, one who appreciates the ideals my Bounty Hunter has in place. It’s so interesting to me to see how my playstyle has changed since Hutta, all because of the experiences I had in-game… they’ve affected me the player! Yet oddly enough, as I stood over the corpse of the fallen Jedi Master, with his apprentice weeping over his corpse and my mouse hovering over the dark side option to kill her, I stopped. Why kill her? She poses no threat, she has been disarmed and beaten… This job was not personal…or was it? This Master was responsible for the deaths of 200 Mandalorians, but to kill her would only further the bloodfeud.

Its this style of quest design that continues to suck me into this game! It’s not just a morale choice… it’s so much more than that. Because with each choice you know that it will affect the future of your story, your character and your companions… it affects everything!

As Grokk moves forward as an official member of the Mandalorians and Champion of the Great Hunt, he now moves on to bigger and badder targets… and more interesting situations I’m sure.
