I’ve got two off beat cocktails for you today. The Salty Dog & Grey Hound.

Both drinks are made exactly the same, with one garnish difference.

To make a Grey Hound, combine Ruby 4 oz of Red Grapefruit with 1.5 oz. of your Favorite Vodka over crushed ice. Shake in a Stainless Steal ‘Tin’ and pour contents into Collins Glass. I recommend Ketal One for this elixir.

To make a Salty Dog see recipe above, but before you pour the mix back into the glass, garnish the rim with Rock Salt. Contrary to popular bar tending the use of ‘Roses’ Lime Juice in your ‘Rimmer’ sponge is bad form. It can sour quickly. I prefer soaking the sponge in club soda to make the Rock Salt stick. This also imparts no flavor onto the salt.

Garnish both drinks with a Lime Wedge.

These buffs are best consumed on the patio during vacations. Remember, always buff up before an important vacation morning! Especially the ones that involve beaches, bikinis, and bronzer!
